Lynn Wilms will switch from FC Twente to VfL Wolfsburg after this season. The twenty-year-old defender leaves the Eredivisie Women for a four-year contract with the European superpower. Wilms also meets the Dutch internationals Dominique Janssen, Shanice van de Sanden and Joëlle Smits at her new club. The latter will come over from PSV after this season.

Wilms makes the transfer to Wolfsburg free of transfer. In Germany, the ten-time the Dutch-international will again have to deal with trainer Tommy Stroot, currently still trainer of Twente. It was previously announced that he is making the switch to Wolfsburg, last season’s losing Champions League finalist.

On behalf of Twente, technical manager René Roord is proud that Wilms is going to take the step. “In the summer of 2018, Lynn came to FC Twente as a fairly unknown player and she has been able to develop into an the Dutch-international with us in recent years, with this transfer as a result. This is entirely in line with the vision of FC Twente Women ”, he says on the club website.

Wilms thanks Twente for the past years, in which she says she has been able to develop as a football player and as a person. “I could not have made a better step three years ago and I am grateful to FC Twente for that. This transfer to VfL Wolfsburg is a great step and I am very happy to be able to make it. This is what I work hard for every day ”, says Wilms.
