For a long time, Omonia Nicosia seemed to leave Manchester United with a point on Thursday evening. After 34 attempts and 12 saves, Uzoho appeared to single-handedly help his side to a point at Old Trafford, until McTominay struck the winner in stoppage time with some fortune.

“Of course I would have preferred to be here with a point, but I’m still happy,” said a broad-smiling Uzoho after the game. Already during the draw I saw myself playing at Old Trafford, I think this was my best performance ever. But I I am also proud of my teammates, because this was not the work of one person. We gave everything.”

Uzoho seized his chance by taking a picture with Ten Hag afterwards. Journalist Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News saw it happen and took a picture of the get-together, which he shared on social media. “No, I’m not disappointed, because we played great,” said Uzoho.
