Olympique Marseille has made a first offer for Micky van de Ven, reports The Telegraph Wednesday afternoon. According to the newspaper, the amount offered did not come close to Volendam’s asking price. Van de Ven himself would also be negotiating with l’OM, although more clubs have inquired about his asking price.

Van de Ven is currently in Marseille with his agent Mino Raiola and his father to discuss the personal conditions, the newspaper writes. However, the clubs also have to figure it out and that hasn’t happened yet. If successful, Van de Ven will be Raiola’s next Dutch client to switch to France. Myron Boadu has left AZ for AS Monaco, while Calvin Stengs, Justin Kluivert and Pablo Rosario are moving to OGC Nice. Tuesday night reported Football International that another client of Raiola, Mohamed Ihattaren, may be going to AS Monaco.

The interest from Marseille in Van de Ven is confirmed by RMC Sports, while Fabrizio Romano reports that Raiola has arrived in Marseille to discuss the transfer with the club. Van de Ven indicated in mid-May that he did not expect to play for FC Volendam this season. The defender, who was named Talent of the Year in the Kitchen Champion Division, considered the chance of a transfer high. In January, twenty-year-old Van de Ven told Football zone that he very consciously chose Raiola as his agent.

“Last year I already started working with Mino. A lot of people think: Mino, he immediately goes for the big money,” said Van de Ven. “Clubs can portray him negatively in the media, because he just stands for his players. Maybe clubs don’t agree with that and therefore find him difficult. Mino said to me last year: ‘Why not join for another year? Continue to Volendam to further develop yourself? You only just see professional football.” I have a lot of contact with Mino and at times an agent is just very important. He has the contacts to put you down at a club, in that situation, Mino is a big name.”
