Peter Bosz may start working at Olympique Lyon, French media report Thursday evening. The French club, which finished fourth last season and thus grabbed hold of next to participation in the Champions League, today received zero on Christophe Galtier’s request. The latter grabbed the league title with Lille and announced his departure two days later. Galtier will sign a contract with OGC Nice in the coming hours, according to the latest reports.

French media assure Olympique quickly switched Lyon to Bosz after Galtier was not feasible. The Dutchman has been without a club since his resignation from Bayer Leverkusen in March and was previously associated with OGC Nice. However, the southern French club seems to be opting for Galtier: both parties have been in contact since April.

Bosz was held responsible for the poor results of the past three months in March. After all, Bayer was the leader of the Bundesliga in mid-December, but after the winter break, Bosz’s team performed dramatically. Bayer was also eliminated by Young Boys in the sixteenth finals of the Europa League and lost in the eighth finals of the German Cup to Rot-Weiss Essen, which plays on the fourth level.

Olympique Lyon, where Memphis Depay will leave on a free transfer after June 30, reportedly offered Galtier a three-season contract plus the option to bring four assistants. However, the former Lille success coach informed chairman Jean-Michael Aulas today that he was not going to accept the proposal. Napoli also showed interest in Galtier, but the Serie A club is close to an agreement with Luciano Spalletti and the Frenchman would have already been spotted in Nice.
