OGC Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère questions the injuries of Olympique Marseille midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi. Like teammates Luan Peres and Dimitri Payet, Guendouzi posted a photo of his injuries sustained from the disturbances during Sunday night’s game against OGC Nice. According to Rivère, Guendouzi had no injuries when he was still on the field.

Peres and Guendouzi shared photos of their injuries: they both have visible damage to their necks. Payet has sustained injuries to his back after being hit by a water bottle from the audience. The match was halted after Nice supporters came onto the field. They first threw a bottle at Payet and reacted angrily when the Marseille playmaker threw the bottle back. They came onto the field and targeted Marseille players, who were left with injuries from the clashes.

“Except for the photo that we see everywhere where Payet is being attacked, no violence has been used against Marseille players,” Rivère said. L’Equipe. Nice’s president says he has not seen any images of Guendouzi being attacked. “If you look at the supporting footage, you don’t see any injuries to his neck when he was on the pitch.”

Rivère’s statements are bad for Olympique Marseille. Communications director Jacques Cardoze late RMC know that Guendouzi’s injuries have been assessed by an independent physician. “I was with them, there were injuries. We saw an independent doctor in Marseille. The medical records will contribute to the investigation by the competition and the disciplinary committee.”
