Diego Biseswar realizes that he has caused quite a commotion while making the draw for the semi-finals of the TOTO KNVB Cup. The former right winger immediately grabbed the ball from Feyenoord without shuffling, which gave them another home match. “A nice draw for us Feyenoorders,” says Biseswar Football zonereporter Jelle Kusters during the premiere of the TV program Life After Football – Footvolley Curaçao 2024.

“I think FC Groningen is not very happy with me,” Biseswar continues. The Pride of the North was linked to Feyenoord by the former attacker in the draw. Remarkably, the Rotterdam team will play at home in the semi-finals of the cup for the tenth time in a row.

“I think they are two great matches,” Biseswar said. The other semi-final in the cup tournament is between SC Cambuur and NEC. The semi-final matches will be played between February 27 and 29. The final will take place on Sunday, April 21 in De Kuip.

After the draw, which was broadcast live on ESPN, a conspiracy theory emerged. “I heard that, yes,” Biseswar responds. “What did I do wrong then?” Biseswar would not have shuffled Feyenoord's ball before he took it out of the tube.

“No, no, no. Before the broadcast, that gentleman, the commissioner, changed hands,” Biseswar explains. “He also shuffled once during the broadcast. The first time I didn't think I had to shuffle myself. So then I picked one out, and that was my club.” Biseswar played a total of 109 matches for Feyenoord.

“After that I shuffled around,” continues the former Suriname international, who played thirteen times for the country.

“I don't think that first ball was laid out especially for me. I'm always honest and I would admit it if it wasn't, but it was just fair.”
