Rangers coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst was not satisfied after the 2-2 draw against PSV. “Of course I’m disappointed”, he said in front of the camera of RTL 7. However, the coach does see possibilities in the return, next Wednesday in Eindhoven, but knows that his team is waiting for a difficult task. Rangers last qualified for the Champions League in the 2010/11 season and so Glasgow is eager to participate in the billion-dollar ball. “Next week it will be the final.”

PSV’s 2-2 by Armando Obispo was a downer, according to Van Bronckhorst. “Obviously, if you give up 2-2 in the end, you’ll be disappointed, but I’ve seen a great fight. In retrospect, 2-2 is a fair result, there was little difference. Next week it will be the final. It was just a very difficult pot for us and that will also be the case next week,” said Van Bronckhorst to RTL 7.

Opposite Ziggo Sports the Dutchman said that his team did not start the game well, he found Rangers ‘very nervous and PSV much more resilient’. Then he saw a better Rangers that after the 2-1 went looking for the decisive third goal. Obispo’s 2-2, however, was a check. Van Bronckhorst found the sounds from the Netherlands and the media that Rangers mainly deliver a lot of passion and struggle. “I have heard a lot from the Netherlands. That it is only passion that we can show”, something that does not bother him otherwise. “But it’s funny because people in the Netherlands don’t see many of our matches. We have shown periods that we can play well against an excellent opponent. But you have to be top 90 minutes. If you are not, then PSV is an opponent who makes use of that,” he knows.

He also pointed out that the goals against should not have fallen. “We also concede a goal twice from a corner, which is not good.” Van Bronckhorst knows that 2-2 at home is a difficult position if you still have to play out. “It will be difficult in Eindhoven, but in the past we have proven that we can also get results from the results, so we will work hard for that.”

Rangers’ 3-0 victory over Belgium’s Union Saint-Gilloise in the previous qualifying round was enough to wipe out the 2-0 loss in Belgium. The Rangers fans are eagerly looking forward to participating in the Champions League. The Scots last participated in the 2010/11 season, when in a group with Manchester United, Valencia and Bursaspor. One win, three draws and two losses meant a third place in the group and so Rangers had to advance in the Europa League. Next Wednesday, the return in Eindhoven will take place in the Philips Stadium. The winner qualifies for the group stage of the Champions League and can look forward to millions.
