Inter has strengthened itself with a new right wing-back. Tajon Buchanan will be permanently taken over from Club Brugge, Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday. The transfer reportedly costs seven million euros.

Inter has been associated with Buchanan for some time, who still has a contract with Club Brugge until mid-2025. The 24-year-old Canadian is originally an attacker, but is also often used as a right back or right center.

This season, Buchanan managed to score twice in twelve league games and provided the same number of assists. Moreover, he already has 35 caps for the Canadian national team to his name.

Last month the Italian reported Gazzetta dello Sport already that the negotiations between Denzel Dumfries and Inter about a new contract went anything but smoothly.

The pink sports newspaper further wrote that if Dumfries and the club cannot reach an agreement, he will most likely close the door in Milan in June. It was not known why negotiations on a new contract were faltering.

The contract of the fifty-time Dutch international runs until mid-2025. If i Nerazzurri wants to earn something from him, he will have to leave the club before then.

If there is indeed a definitive break between Inter and Dumfries, a successful era will come to an end. The 27-year-old Dutchman won the Italian Cup twice with Inter. He has made 112 appearances for Inter so far. He managed to score nine times and provided eighteen assists.
