Arnaut Danjuma's management is in talks with Olympique Lyon. Agent Michael-Moses Jarman of the Panthera Sports real estate agency confirmed this news talkSPORT. It appears Danjuma's loan spell at Everton will be cut short, allowing the 26-year-old forward to move from Villarreal to Olympique Lyon.

According to Panthera Sports, discussions with Lyon are in full swing, although no agreement has yet been reached. “Arnaut feels at home at Everton, where he has a good contract, so it is important to talk about the club respectfully. Unfortunately, he is not getting the playing minutes he needs at the moment. Horace has to play, that is the best for his career,” said Jarman.

That is why Jarman is looking for the right solution. “It is true that there is interest from Lyon and we are in discussions. I recently read that in the media, so that's why I'm confirming it now.” Danjuma would love to go to the European Championship with the Dutch team, but at Everton he rarely gets the chance to be in the spotlight of national coach Ronald Koeman. Because he receives a princely salary at Goodison Park the Toffees probably not unwillingly against leaving.

This year Danjuma is playing on a rental basis in Liverpool, but he is still a contract player for Villarreal. In LaLiga, the right winger has a contract until mid-2026. According to Transfer market Danjuma is currently worth 17 million euros, but it seems that he would also be redundant at Villarreal.

Lyon can therefore be a perfect solution for Danjuma, Everton and Villarreal. A winter transfer is still possible for the Nigerian-born winger because he did not play for the Spanish mid-table earlier this season. With a loan transfer to Lyon, Danjuma will have to fight against relegation from Ligue 1, as it seems OL to have found the way up.

Danjuma did not play a single international match for the Dutch team in 2023. His last international match was on March 26, 2022, when Denmark was defeated 4-2. Danjuma has played a total of six international matches so far, in which he scored two goals and an assist.

The 26-year-old Danjuma played in the Netherlands for Jong PSV and NEC, before ending up at Villarreal via Club Brugge and AFC Bournemouth. Danjuma had a good debut season with the Spanish mid-table, after which his form declined. Last season, the winger completed a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, where, just like at Everton, he failed to impress.
