Division has arisen in the Napoli dressing room over the way star player Victor Osimhen is being treated. Corriere dello Sport outlined on Monday that the Nigerian striker is given privileges that other players do not get, which leads to friction.

Napoli is having an extremely difficult season and is in a disappointing ninth place in Serie A after 24 rounds. The sporting malaise now seems to be spreading to the dressing room, where a duel is emerging.

Some players within the squad have complained about the way Osimhen is being treated. The Nigerian would be treated extra well by the club, regardless of his performance on the field.

Due to his defiance over a new contract and returning from the African Cup late and not fit, it is believed that the attacker is not entitled to privileges. Everyone should be treated equally, that is what the player group says.

The treatment of Osimhen would be in stark contrast to the way Napoli dealt with Eljif Elmas. The North Macedonian was recently opposed by the club.

Elmas was looking for a new challenge in the winter after his chance of playing time turned out to be limited at Napoli. The club did not agree and had the midfielder train separately from the group. Ultimately, Elmas left for RB Leipzig.

Piotr Zielinski was also threatened with exclusion from the group due to his impending transfer to Internazionale. The players are now fed up and can no longer live with Osimhen's privileges.
