Peter Hyballa is the new trainer of NAC Breda, the club reports through the official channels. The 47-year-old coach was already a trainer for five months in 2020 the Pearl of the South and has signed a contract until the end of the season. At NAC, Hyballa is the successor to the recently fired Robert Molenaar.

“We are happy with the signing of Peter,” says technical Supervisory Board member Pierre van Hooijdonk on the NAC club site. “He is the right man in the right place for us at the moment. At Hyballa we see a way of working that we believe fits the club culture and our young group of players. Temporary head coach Ton Lokhoff is also satisfied with the appointment of Hyballa”, said Van Hooijdonk.

Hyballa himself is also very pleased with his return to NAC. “The city of Breda has never been out of my mind, that is known, I have never hidden it. Breda, NAC, I thought it was really special that Pierre called me for this position at the club,” said Hyballa. For now it is immediately ‘full house’ for me. Reaching the play-offs is the big goal and progressing in the cup is of course also very important. I like to start, because at NAC you are never alone in such a situation; you always have a whole stadium behind you at home, I’m looking forward to that.”

Hyballa is the successor to Molenaar at NAC, who was evicted by the club at the end of December. There was insufficient confidence in the coach among the Breda people to let him stay on even longer. His tasks were then taken over by assistant coach Lokhoff. Molenaar has only been standing for the group in the Rat Verlegh Stadium since this summer. He took over from Edwin de Graaf, whose contract was not renewed. The latter led NAC to an eighth place in the Kitchen Champion Division last season, but this year things are not going as well for the people of Brabant. After twenty rounds of play, NAC is in a disappointing twelfth place.

Hyballa has had little success as a trainer in recent years. The coach left five times in a row after an extremely short employment as a trainer at a club. At the beginning of 2020, he left NAC Breda after five months due to a conflict with technical manager Tom Van Den Abbeele. At the end of 2020, the German was appointed to the Polish Wisla Kraków, which fired him in May after six months due to poor results.

In the summer of 2021, Hyballa started a two-year contract with Esbjerg fB. After a widely publicized conflict with the players of the Danish club, who accused the coach of assault, among other things, he left within two months. Hyballa then joined the German fourth division Türkgücü Munich as a trainer, but was sent off after seven games due to disappointing results. Peter Hyballa’s most recent coaching adventure was also short-lived. AS Trencin put him on the street after two matches last summer.
