NAC Breda booked a resounding victory on Saturday evening. In the North Brabant regional derby, the team of trainer Edwin de Graaf visited TOP Oss, which was defeated 1-3. Thanks to the victory, the club from Breda rises to ninth place in the ranking for the time being, while Oss is stuck in eighteenth position. It was the eighth defeat in a row for the team of coach Bob Peeters, which last triumphed at the end of August.
From the start, NAC was the dominant party and they immediately went in search of the opening goal. Thom Haye shot just wide in the fifth minute and goalkeeper Lars van Meurs saved Kaj de Rooij’s bet. A goal was scored after fifteen minutes of play from eleven meters. A handball in the sixteen-meter area made referee Jochem Kamphuis decide to award the penalty, and it was Ralf Seuntjes who scored: 0-1. Two minutes later, the visitors hit again.
Haye came up over the right flank and he delivered a nice through ball to Boris van Schuppen. It was then a breeze for the midfielder to finish: 0-2. Nevertheless, Oss did something back just before half-time via Kay Tejan, who scored the 1-2. Although the tension returned to the game, Yassine Azzagari sealed the fate of the home team. Again Haye was the principal, as he delivered a tailor-made corner to Azzagari. The twenty-year-old midfielder made his debut goal from a header: 1-3. In the remainder of the game, the search was on for a goal, but none were forthcoming.
