Myron Boadu can make his return to AS Monaco on Thursday. The attacker had to miss the entire start of the competition due to a foot injury, but has now been declared fit enough and is part of the Monegasque match selection for the first time this season. On Thursday evening, the team of coach Philippe Clement will play in the group stage of the Europa League against Ferencváros from Hungary.

The international of the Dutch Juniors missed ten matches due to his injury, but from this moment on he can look ahead with a good feeling. The physical problems are a thing of the past for Boadu, who will still have to get to match rhythm. His trainer is therefore careful with him. “If necessary, he will play for ten to fifteen minutes,” Clement reported at the press conference in preparation for the meeting with Ferencváros.

The competition is also fierce at Monaco. With Wissam Ben Yedder, Clement has a recognized goalscorer in the ranks and Breel Embolo, who was taken over from Borussia Monchengladbach for a million this summer, can also handle the point of the attack. Takumi Minamino also played there in the first games of the season, although the Japanese is more of an offensive midfielder. So Boadu can wet his chest.

The 21-year-old striker, who made the step from AZ to Monaco in the summer of 2021 for seventeen million euros, made 42 appearances for the club’s first team in his first season. Twelve of them were as starting players. In total he scored four times in the competition, once in the national cup tournament and once in a European context. PSV will remember that last goal, because Boadu made it in the Philips Stadium.
