MVV Maastricht has recaptured the coveted second place in the Kitchen Champion Division. The Limburgers won 3-1 against FC Den Bosch at home. At the same time, FC Dordrecht took on NAC Breda in-house. Despite good opportunities for Dordt the points went to the Rat Verlegh Stadium: 0-3. NAC climbs to eighth place and now has as many points as VVV-Venlo and Almere City, who are seventh and eighth respectively.

MVV Maastricht – FC Den Bosch 3-1
MVV, already working on an unparalleled season, started in-house. The home team had already missed a number of opportunities when Jarne Steuckers cut in in the tenth minute to shoot the ball into the far corner: 1-0. MVV then missed enormous opportunities, including a tap from Nicky Souren and a free shooting opportunity for Mart Remans. After forty minutes, the second goal fell for the Limburgers. Koen Kostons received the ball in the box from Remans and scored it hard: 2-0.

Evangelos Patoulidis could have eased the pain for Den Bosch just before half-time, but missed one-on-one with goalkeeper Romain Matthys. The Brabanters also had the upper hand in the beginning of the second half. Victor van den Bogert took care of the connecting goal after 67 minutes by shooting from a corner: 2-1. MVV goalie Matthys then returned with huge opportunities for Den Bosch players Joey Konings and Faris Hammouti. Just before time, MVV finished it off in the counter via Steuckers, who received the ball from Kostons: 3-1.

FC Dordrecht – NAC Breda 0-3
After more than fifteen minutes of play, NAC almost took the lead. After Liam Bossin wanted to shoot the ball away, Jort van der Sande was able to intervene. The striker wanted to pass on to Ezechiel Banzuzi, but the Dordrecht defense just managed to put a stop to that. Dordrecht countered that with a shot by Samuele Longo, which could be stopped by Roy Kortsmit. Jaymillio Pinas could also have given the home team the lead after a sharp counter. Once again Kortsmit saved his team from falling behind. On behalf of NAC, Stef de Wijs just couldn’t reach the ball to tap in after a well-played attack. Two minutes later it was hit via Banzuzi. The only seventeen-year-old attacker was able to enter the rebound after Odysseus Velanas’ effort: 0-1.

After the break, Kortsmit was again important. Benjamin Reemst was allowed to place after a cross from the right side of about eleven meters from the goal. His shot landed on the head of the NAC goalkeeper. More than twenty minutes before the end, the visitors apparently closed the game. A cross from De Wijs ended up on the head of Van de Sande, who saw his effort end up against the ropes: 0-2. On the other hand, Longo lacked luck. The Italian striker was allowed to shoot twice and hit the post in both cases. A few minutes later, Van de Sande was again accurate. The attacker received a nice through pass from Vieiri Kotzebue and then rounded off with a nice marker: 0-3.
