MVV became a victim of burglary in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The club reports this on its own channels. ‘The inferiority of humanity’, as the people of Maastricht call the thieves, made off with all the Nike clothing that could be found in the dressing rooms. Masita’s clothes simply remained.

Partly because of this, MVV thinks that the thieves knew exactly why they had come to Stadium de Geusselt. “Various areas of the changing rooms were searched. They clearly knew what they were looking for. For example, all Masita clothing was left undisturbed while Nike clothing was used. For example, the entire stock of Nike clothing (match clothing, training clothes, show suits) from all seven youth teams (up to and including U21).”

Most of the garments were ready to go to the printer, as a sponsor logo still had to be printed on the uniforms. The MVV logo was on all stolen clothing. MVV reports that it does not yet know exactly how much damage it has suffered, but it does think it will run into ‘the many thousands of euros’. In the meantime, the police have launched a trace investigation and all camera images in and around the stadium are carefully read.

The Star Bearers In the meantime, we are calling on people to look out for people who suddenly walk around in competition and/or training clothes with the MVV logo on them and to keep a close eye on the internet, where things can be sold. The Maastricht club likes to be kept informed. The capital of Limburg is deeply disappointed, as there has been more and more positivity around MVV lately.
