For José Mourinho, a series of undefeated European club finals came to an end on Wednesday evening. The AS Roma trainer went down in the final of the Europa League after penalties against Sevilla and was unable to swallow that. Images from English media show how the flamboyant Portuguese seeks confrontation with referee Anthony Taylor in the parking garage after midnight.
Mourinho completely freaked out when Taylor pointed to the spot for Sevilla in the second half at 1-1. The English referee was called aside by the VAR and saw how Roger Ibañez just touched the ball in a duel with Lucas Ocampos. Taylor then withdrew the penalty kick. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic shot the ball on Fernando’s arm, but again the ball did not hit the spot. Much to Mourinho’s fury.

The Portuguese eventually saw his team lose on penalties, but it was difficult for him to accept his first defeat in a European final.
