Jose Mourinho has ordered AS Roma supporters to stop singing a ‘racist song’ towards Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Thursday evening, reports said. DAZN. According to the broadcasting-authorized streaming service of Serie A, the incident took place in the second half of the match between AC Milan and Roma (3-1). Mourinho heard the lyrics to the song, walked to the away section and gestured for the fans to stop singing, which happened immediately.

Ibrahimovic entered the lines at Milan in minute 77 and immediately became the target of discriminatory chants from the branch. It is not clear what exactly was being sung. It is possible that Ibrahimovic was called a gypsy, as that happened during the away match against Roma on October 31 (1-2 win). After Ibrahimovic scored in that match, he gestured to the spectators to sing louder. He then received a yellow card for that. Roma received a suspended sentence after that match: if Curva Sud, or the fanatical supporters, misbehave again within a year, the box must remain closed for a match.

“We have zero tolerance for any form of racism,” Roma said in a statement at the time. “The club has been committed to combating racism and any form of discrimination for years. As an organization, we continue to do everything we can to change the behavior of some fans in a positive way.” Mourinho reinforced those words by seeking out the away crowd after Ibrahimovic’s substitution and making it clear that the accompanying fans had to stop singing. The trainer worked at Internazionale with the Swede, who did not score this time. Deep into stoppage time, a penalty from Ibrahimovic was saved by goalkeeper Rui Patrício.
