Giovanni van Bronckhorst does not wish to use Alfredo Morelos for the return in the Champions League against PSV. The attacker has been left out of the selection and will not travel to Eindhoven. The main reason is a lack of posture and fitness, or so it sounds from Scotland. Last weekend, Morelos showed his worst side by getting a red card against Hibernian thirteen minutes after his substitute.

The preparation of Rangers for the return against PSV was already restless. The duel with Hibernian ended in a disappointing draw for Van Bronckhorst’s team, while in addition to Morelos, John Lundstram also had to clear the field early. Now Van Bronckhorst has decided not to include Morelos in the selection for the match against PSV. The Colombian still has a future at Ibrox, provided he can prove his commitment. Talks about a new contract will in any case be suspended.

According to reports from Sky Sports Van Bronckhorst has made his decision about Morelos dependent on the judgment of some of his experienced players. They all unanimously supported the decision. The forward would renounce his attitude and discipline, which was reflected in the away game against Hibernian. Cold in the field, Morelos waved his arm back in the face of his direct opponent. Thirteen minutes after his turn, he was able to push in again.

Morelos was sidelined last season due to injuries and saw his employer strengthen in the meantime with Tom Lawrence, Malik Tillman, Rabbi Matondo and Antonio Colak. The latter has started as a starting player in all seven official games this season and has scored four goals in his last five games. Last week he was also accurate against PSV in the first game at Ibrox. Morelos is after 299 official games on 160 goals and 64 assists in the shirt of Rangers.
