Juventus booked a narrow victory in the Serie A on Sunday evening. At home, the team of trainer Massimiliano Allegri did not shine against Spezia, but a goal from Álvaro Morata was enough to secure the three points: 1-0. La Vecchia Signora, who is fourth with 53 points, increases the pressure on AC Milan and Napoli (57 points) with the win. The latter two teams will meet later in the evening in a head-to-head confrontation in Napoli.

The Turin team still had a long list of injured players, including Paulo Dybala, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini Alex Sandro and Federico Chiesa. As expected, Matthijs de Ligt was in the heart of the defense, while goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet on the other side once again had to settle for a place on the bench. The spectators present were not spoiled with eye-watering football in the opening phase, until the ban was suddenly broken by Juventus in the 21st minute of play.

A moderate kick by goalkeeper Ivan Provedel in his own half at Arthur’s feet. The midfielder played the ball forward at lightning speed towards Dusan Vlahovic. Via Manuel Locatelli, the leather ended up on the left side of the sixteen with Álvaro Morata, who found the bottom right corner with a watched slider: 1-0. It was the Spaniard’s first Serie A goal since December 18. The next serious attempt came from the foot of Juan Cuadrado. The right midfielder on duty sought the corner after a nice combination of football with Arthur, but Provedel was alert and saved.

After the break, Spezia actually created the first danger. Emmanuel Gyasi put in a header on goal from a custom cross from the right, but goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny got on the right track to turn the bet. The closing post had to act again in the closing stages when Kevin Agudelo tried his luck with a valiant effort after an excellent dribble. However, Spezia could no longer prevent a defeat.
