Justin Kluivert and Pablo Rosario made their official debut for OGC Nice on Sunday. The team of coach Christopher Gaultier had to settle for a goalless draw in the match against Stade Reims, as part of the first day of Ligue 1 match: 0-0. Both Kluivert and Rosario appeared at the starting signal for the Southern French team, while Kaj Sierhuis was one of two attackers in the visitors’ 5-3-2 system.
The ambitious OGC Nice, which finished ninth last season, could not prevent the first home game from ending in 0-0. Rosario was inside the lines for ninety minutes, while Kluivert was replaced by Hicham Boudaoui eleven minutes before the end. Calvin Stengs was not in the match selection due to a minor muscle injury. Sierhuis joined the visitors for an hour and not much later, Kasper Dolberg came in as a replacement for Lucas Da Cunha for the home team.
OGC Nice awaits a very tough second chance next Saturday: an away match against reigning national champions Lille OSC. Reims and Sierhuis will play at home against Montpellier next Sunday.
