Paris Saint-Germain took a big step towards the national title on Friday evening. The Parisians were 1-2 too strong at SCO Angers. Kylian Mbappé was twice accurate for his team. The second goal followed from a brilliant assist from Lionel Messi. Sada Thioub scored on behalf of Angers. PSG remain in the lead thanks to the victory. Angers is at the bottom and relegation seems inevitable.
In the opening phase of the game, the home team had a huge chance to take the lead through Ibrahima Niane. The striker only approached PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but saw his attempt turned away by the Italian closing post. Where Angers missed a big chance in the opening phase, the first chance for the away team was immediately hit. Mbappé first mowed over the ball, but was able to shoot it in second: 1-0.

Fifteen minutes after the opening goal, PSG already doubled their lead. Messi sent Mbappé into the depths with a phenomenal through ball. The French attacker went around the Angers goalkeeper to score his second goal of the match. Thanks to the goals in the first half, Mbappé is now alone again at the top of the French top scorers’ standings. He has now scored 22 goals. Jonathan David of LOSC Lille follows with twenty hits.

After the 2-0, the team from Paris took the foot off the accelerator. Through Messi in the first and Achraf Hakimi in the second half, PSG were able to extend their lead even further. However, both attempts lacked luck in the completion. Leaning back resulted in a goal for the leader of Ligue 1. Sada Thioub got the ball back well by Abdallah Sima and was able to shoot from close range. However, the home team did not get further than 2-1, so that PSG takes the points back to Paris.
