Barcelona took three points in LaLiga on Sunday with some difficulty. The team of coach Ronald Koeman was 2-1 too strong for Getafe in the Camp Nou. The winning goal fell after half an hour of play and was credited to Memphis Depay, who already has two goals and an assist after three matches in the Spanish league. Frenkie de Jong was also in the starting line-up, while Sergiño Dest started on the bench. Barcelona has now, like Real Madrid and Sevilla, among others, collected seven points from three matches.
The first half was less than two minutes old when the ball was already behind goalkeeper David Soria. Jordi Alba received the ball on the left from Depay, after which Martin Braithwaite deliberately let his pass go at the near post and Sergi Roberto slid into the ball. However, Getafe reacted well to the early downer and took advantage of the first chance of the visit in the Camp Nou under the watchful eye of more than 26,000 spectators. Barcelona lost the ball three times in their own half and after some excellent combinations it was the former Azulgrana Sandro Ramirez who aimed the ball into the left corner: 1-1.

Barcelona then controlled and dominated the game, with over 65 percent possession in the first 45 minutes, and took the lead again after half an hour of play. Frenkie de Jong delivered the ball to Depay on the left, who entered the penalty area, sought out opponent Juan Iglesias and eventually defeated Soria in the short corner: 2-1. A hard shot from distance by Mauro Arambarri just before half-time was a prey for Marc-André ter Stegen, who kept his first game of the season, with some difficulty.
Koeman’s team had more trouble reaching Soria’s goal area after the break, and a better playing Getafe played a large part in that. Koeman was visibly concerned about the proportions and with the entrance of Dest opted for Emerson, who was in the starting line for the first time, for the first change. Getafe looked for an equalizer and mainly tried from a distance. Attempts by Jakub Jankto, Nemanja Maksimovic and Arambarri went wide or were prey for Ter Stegen.
Fifteen minutes before the end, seventeen-year-old Gavi and two-years older Nico González also made their appearance at Barcelona, who managed to keep Getafe more away from the goal. However, a liberating third goal was not in it for the Catalans, who have to play a difficult away game against Sevilla after the international match.
