Memphis Depay has handed over his business card at the last exhibition game of Barcelona in the United States. The Catalan superpower faced New York Red Bulls in the night from Saturday to Sunday and ended the trip unscathed: 0-2. Ousmane Dembélé broke the spell on the stroke of half-time, after which substitute Depay ended the game five minutes before the end. Frenkie de Jong did start in the base and was allowed to show himself again from midfield.

De Jong formed a midfield with Sergio Busquets and Gavi, while the rear was formed by Jordi Alba, Andreas Christensen, Eric García and Ronald Araújo. In the vanguard, Robert Lewandowski was flanked by Raphinha and Dembélé. The latter took the first danger of the match after fifteen minutes of play. The winger happened to be served by Raphinha, but shot wildly over. Lewandowski was also unhappy in the finish. The Polish striker headed just over on a pass from García.

A second serious attempt by the attack leader also failed. Barca had nothing to fear from the number four in the Eastern Conference in the first half. The score was broken open by Dembélé on the stroke of half-time. The winger crossed behind Raphinha, received the ball in the course and shot diagonally: 0-1. Nothing changed in the second half. Barcelona dominated and hit the top of the bar via García (header). Lewandowski saw his umpteenth attempt end up on the roof of the goal.

Halfway through the game, Xavi brought in Gerard Piqué, Pedri and Ansu Fati, among others, and continued to rotate in the second half. De Jong had to make way for Franck Kessié. The unfortunate Lewandowski was released from his misery fifteen minutes before the end by Depay. The Dutchman immediately showed eagerness and was responsible for doubling the score in the final phase. After fumbling in the defense of New York Red Bulls, Depay nibbled the ball to finish easily: 0-2.
