Matthijs de Ligt is nominated to leave Juventus this summer. The Dutchman is on the cover of the Italian . on Monday morning Tuttosportincluding the asking price of la Vecchia Signora for the 22-year-old defender: one hundred million euros. Chelsea seem most interested in De Ligt, who still has a contract in Turin until mid-2024.

With the departure of Giorgio Chiellini, Juventus would prefer not to lose another strong holder in the defense. But, message Tuttosport, a cheap or even transfer-free exodus of the former Ajax player is completely out of the question. De Ligt has not yet shown a hopeful sign of a possible extension of his contract. Chelsea have reportedly made a €40 million offer, including Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner. However, the informed newspaper knows that De Ligt is “only being sold for a hundred million”.

Tuttosport also mentions a possible replacement for the Dutchman. Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is the main candidate. Nevertheless, that would be a thorn in the side of Juventus, which still see merit in the project to make De Ligt ‘leader of the future’. “Koulibaly, 31, is not really an investment for the future, but does offer solid guarantees for the present,” the magazine reports. With a contract until next summer, the Senegalese vice-captain is also seen as affordable.

De Ligt transferred to the Turin top club for more than 85 million euros in the summer of 2019. This makes the defender the most expensive purchase ever from the club after Cristiano Ronaldo (117 million) and Gonzalo Higuaín (90 million). So far, he has made 117 appearances for Juventus, the majority of which as a starting player. He scored eight times and immediately prepared a goal three times. De Ligt’s name recently appeared in all the newspapers, when Nicola Legrottaglie (former Juventus player) claimed that ‘Juventus will not lie for a transfer’.
