Marko Vejinovic will train with AZ in the coming period. The Alkmaarders announce via the official channels that the thirty-year-old midfielder maintains his fitness level. Vejinovic recently terminated his contract with Polish Arka Gdynia, is currently looking for a new club and regards returning to the Dutch fields as a very serious option.

“I am now looking for a new nice club, which is ambitious and where I can make my right happen”, says Vejinovic in conversation with the AZ club channel. The midfielder has played in Poland for the past year and a half. Arka Gdynia initially hired him at AZ, after which he made the final switch a year ago. “I scored eight goals, played everything and stayed fit, so it was fantastic.”

‘It was slightly less in the organization, we were delegated. It was a season of good and bad, ”continues Vejinovic, who was 38 appearances during Arka Gdynia. The midfielder is tentatively back at AZ, where he previously played between 2006 and 2009 and 2017 and 2019. The former player of Heracles Almelo, Vitesse and Feyenoord believes the chances are that he will be active in the Netherlands again next season.

“There are a lot of things at play,” stressed the transfer-free Vejinovic. ‘I just have to find something that suits me and that makes me feel good, because I also have a family and my wife got a fantastic job in the Netherlands. It also counts, the chance of a choice in the Netherlands is definitely present. ”
