Erik ten Hag is looking hard for reinforcements for next season and especially wants to bring in a striker of international allure. The Haaksberg trainer has therefore expressly set his eye on Harry Kane and a bid is currently being prepared, reports the Telegraph. The English striker has a contract in North London until the summer of 2024 and is said to cost Manchester United more than a hundred million euros.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is known to be a very tough negotiator, making it a difficult task to reach an agreement with him. Ten Hag does not feel like waiting all summer for his intended striker, so United will have to negotiate quickly. If Levy digs his heels in and dares to risk Kane walking out the door for free next year, United will switch to Victor Osimhen.

In addition to Manchester United, Kane can also opt for a switch to Bayern Munich, where Thomas Tuchel has recently taken over. However, the 29-year-old top scorer would prefer to stay in England to attack Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record. Shearer scored no less than 260 times in the Premier League, largely in the service of Newcastle United. Kane has scored 207 goals in the English league so far.

Ten Hag will visit Tottenham with Manchester United on Thursday. It is expected that Levy will be received by his own fans with a lashing whistle concert. The England chairman sacked Antonio Conte as manager last month and since then, under interim manager Cristian Stellini, progress has been anything but the Spurs. For example, last weekend Newcastle United lost 6-1 and the London club seems to have definitively dropped out in the battle for fourth place.
