Manchester midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been named the English Premier League’s player of the season.

The 29-year-old Belgian scored 13 goals for City, who finished second in the league behind champions Liverpool.

De Bruyne also equaled a competition record of 20 assists. It is equal to the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry’s record for a single season. Henry set his record in the 2002-03 season.

De Bruyne is the third Belgian in the past nine seasons to receive the award.
