NAC Breda is in the ’emphasis of interest’ of the City Football Group, reports Football International Sunday night. Several clubs are currently under the football stronghold, including Manchester City, Lommel SK, Troyes and New York City FC. The ties between NAC and the City Football Group are good, as the club from the Kitchen Champion Division worked together with Manchester City in the recent past.

Representatives of the City Football Group want to travel to Breda next week to make their interest more concrete. The wealthy Abu Dhabi group, headed by Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, currently owns clubs in nine countries: Australia, Belgium, China, England, France, India, Japan, Spain, Uruguay and the United States. . The Netherlands could therefore become the tenth country where the City Football Group becomes active. NAC hopes to return to the Eredivisie soon, but is only ninth on the second level.

NAC and Manchester City signed a partnership agreement in April 2016. For five seasons, the club from Breda was allowed to have four to six players, who came from Manchester on a rental basis. The goal was to let the players mature in the Netherlands. After a few years, NAC became dissatisfied with the players from England on offer and Manchester City was done with the policy pursued in Breda. Under the leadership of director Mattijs Manders, the ties were then tightened and strengthened.
