Manchester United may face stiff competition in the battle for the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong. According to transfer market expert Fabrizo Romano, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have already held talks with Jeffrey Lemmert, the agent of the 22-year-old right back of Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong has been high on United’s shortlist since October and the defender himself is said to be open to a move to Manchester.

At Bayern, the arrival of Frimpong is not currently the top priority. The Record Master reportedly first wants to see in May whether it is possible to take over João Cancelo permanently from Manchester City. The Portuguese international caught up on the second plan last winter the Citizens and then opted for a loan to Bayern. For Barcelona, ​​it is still unclear whether the arrival of Frimpong is actually feasible, as the Catalans are facing serious financial problems.

Last Monday, the German branch of Sky Sports that Frimpong’s agent is in talks with United. The mutual feeling is positive after the first contacts and manager Erik ten Hag is said to be an ‘admirer’ of Frimpong. Frimpong still has a contract with Leverkusen that will run until mid-2025. As a basic player, the Dutch right back is having an excellent season in Leverkusen: in the current football year, he produced seven assists and five goals in all competitions.
