Borussia Dortmund booked a resounding victory in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening. The team of trainer Erdin Terzic was 6-1 too strong for 1. FC Köln at home. Donyell Malen played a leading role with a hit and two assists, while Sébastien Haller scored twice. Dortmund takes over the lead from Bayern Munich, which will play against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

Edin Terzic made room for Haller and Malen against Köln. BVB took it easy in the first fifteen minutes, but then walked away from the visitors in no time. Malen was at the basis of Raphaël Guerreiro’s 1-0. The attacker sent his opponent Julian Chabot into the woods with a graceful movement and then passed on to Guerreiro, who was able to tap in after a good assumption: 1-0. Haller doubled the margin not much later after a nice team goal. The striker was the final destination after a fast attack over several discs: 2-0.

With more than half an hour on the clock, Dortmund further expanded the score. After a tailor-made through ball from Jude Bellingham, Malen encountered goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe, after which Marco Reus placed the ball in the long corner on Guerreiro’s request: 3-0. Malen was still on the scoreboard in the first company. With a hard shot through the middle, he left Schwäbe without a chance this time: 4-0.

Köln immediately did something back via Davie Selke, who managed to outwit Alexander Meyer in two instances: 4-1. Dortmund refused to slow down in the second act. Haller was alert after Schwäbe was able to push a free kick from Mahmoud Dahoud against the crossbar. The Ivorian international then only had to tap the ball into an empty goal: 5-1. The final chord was in the 70th minute for Reus. The midfielder finished in a controlled manner: 6-1. For Reus it was already his 161st goal in service the Boruses.
