AS Roma recorded a close victory at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening. Coach José Mourinho’s team seemed to lose 0-1 against Lecce, but late goals in injury time from Sardar Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku still gave Roma the full spoils. The Belgian grew from a big schlemiel to a hero, as he missed a penalty after five minutes.

Particularities:
Roma, which started with Rick Karsdorp in the starting line-up, had the perfect opportunity to take the lead within five minutes. Referee Andrea Colombo gave the home team a penalty on the advice of the VAR after a handball in the box by Federico Baschirotto. Lukaku took responsibility, but had to watch goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone parry his penalty. It seemed to be a costly miss, as Pontus Almqvist made it 0-1 twenty minutes before the end. AS Roma still crawled through the eye of the needle in injury time. Azmoun made it 1-1 with a convincing header, after which Lukaku set the entire Stadio Olimpico on fire by turning away from his direct opponent and finishing: 2-1.
