Ajax and Sevilla are still not sure about an early return of Lucas Ocampos, the Spanish reports ASH Monday. Trainer Jorge Sampaoli would like to use Ocampos in the fight against relegation, but the financial conditions for a return to LaLiga are the stumbling block. As a result, Ocampos threatens to have to serve his time in Amsterdam.

Ocampos is rented by Ajax from Sevilla this season for four million euros. The Spaniards want Ajax to continue to pay the Argentinian’s salary when Ocampos returns to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. At the moment, however, Ajax does not like that and hopes for better financial conditions, in order to finally get rid of the expensive winger. Ocampos has only played 114 minutes for the team from Amsterdam since his rental transfer.

It does not look like Ocampos will play a role at Ajax this season, as he did not travel to Marbella for the winter training camp at the end of November with the selection of trainer Alfred Schreuder. Since then it has been quiet around Ocampos, who has been regularly spotted in the center of Seville with World Cup participant Papu Gómez in recent weeks. The 28-year-old attacker therefore seems to have said goodbye to Ajax informally.

Seville can use Ocampos well from a sporting point of view, as the club is still in eighteenth place in Spain. Sampaoli still knows the right foot from his first term at the club and is charmed by his qualities. The ten-time international of la Albiceleste previously played 135 games for Sevilla, in which he scored 34 goals and fifteen assists. In Amsterdam, however, Ocampos has not been able to show a shadow of himself.
