RB Leipzig will get a second striker for the future after Timo Werner with Benjamin Sesko, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported Monday afternoon. Sesko will be bought this summer, but won’t be available until the summer of 2023 Those Roten Bullen come. RB Salzburg absolutely did not want to cooperate with a departure of the nineteen-year-old Slovenian in this transfer summer. Sesko will therefore be under contract with Leipzig for five seasons from mid-2023.

The 19-year-old Slovenian has been heavily associated with a move to Manchester United in recent months, but feels more for a future move to East Germany. Sesko was already high on the list before the arrival of Erik Ten Hag the Red Devils, which seem to have gone horribly wrong. At Leipzig, it is believed that Sesko can develop in the Bundesliga as Erling Braut Haaland did at Borussia Dortmund. Romano expects the transfer to be announced publicly on Tuesday.

The tall Sesko made his debut for RB Salzburg in January 2021. Since then, he has scored thirteen goals in 41 official matches for the Austrian club. He also played thirteen international matches for Slovenia, in which he scored twice. Last month, Sesko was accurate in the practice match between RB Salzburg and Ajax: in the seventieth minute he made the 2-3. That was also the final score. It is not yet known what Leipzig will pay for Sesko, but given the length of his contract (until mid-2026) in Salzburg, that will be a high transfer fee.

On Sunday, Romano already reported that Werner will return to Leipzig this season. The German striker will be definitively taken over from Chelsea, where he has never been able to make his mark. The Londoners took over Werner in July 2020 for 53 million euros and since then he has scored just 23 goals in 89 official games in England. Werner already played for Leipzig between 2016 and 2020 and managed to score 90 times in 156 official games. In addition, the now 26-year-old striker gave forty assists. As with Sesko’s incoming transfer, it remains to be seen what Leipzig will pay for the striker.
