Patrick Bamford has given Aston Villa its first defeat of the season. The Leeds United striker took all hits on Friday evening in the mutual meeting at Villa Park: 0-3. Defeat means that the Villans not to grab the first lead in the Premier League since 2001, but to stay one point behind Everton: twelve to thirteen points after five duels. Leeds United is third with ten points from six matches.

The first half ended scoreless, but there was certainly no lack of opportunities in the first 45 minutes. Leeds in particular had the prospect of a goal via Bamford and Rodrigo, while a bet from Jack Grealish on the other side of the field was taken off the line. In the second half, Bamford needed nineteen minutes to score three times and especially his third was there. Between four defenders he aimed the ball beautifully and deftly in the left corner. It was already his sixth of the season.

Pascal Struijk started at Leeds United, but the young Dutchman played an unfortunate game. After ten minutes, the defender received a yellow card for a tackle on Paul Tierney and almost immediately escaped his second. Signal for coach Marco Bielsa to replace Struijk for Jamie Shackleton after 21 minutes.
