Even now that Quincy Promes appears to have confessed his alleged attempted murder in a tapped telephone conversation, the thirty-year-old attacker is simply drafted by Spartak Moscow. Promes played the entire match against FK Krasnodar on Sunday and used a penalty. However, it was not enough for a result, also because Promes hit the post in the absolute final phase: 1-2 loss.

Sports have been bad for Spartak, which has slipped to a disappointing ninth place in the Russian competition. To make matters worse, the Muscovites were removed from the Europa League by UEFA as a sanction for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. New facts about the Promes criminal case came to light this week. The ex-Ajacied has announced in several conversations with his family that he wanted to stab his cousin to death in 2020. The attacker was tapped on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization. Remarkably enough, Spartak did not respond at all and so simply lined up the wing striker on Sunday.

Spartak was already behind within five minutes against Krasnodar, the number five in the competition, thanks to a nice free kick by Eduard Spertsyan. Spartak was awarded a penalty just before half-time, when Vladimir Ilyin received the ball on his arm. Promes controlled the ball from eleven meters into the bottom corner: 1-1. In the 86th minute, Krasnodar also got a penalty, which was finished by Spertsyan: 1-2.
