Paris Saint-Germain made no mistake on Sunday in the battle for the French national title. Against Montpellier it rained goals and the score ended up being 2-6. Kylian Mbappé was the big man with three goals, Vitinha, Lee Kang-In and Nuno Mendes also contributed. On behalf of the home team, it was Arnaud Nordin and Téji Savanier who did something back.

The goal was already in the thirteenth minute Les Parisiens. Vitinha received the ball from Mbappé's left side, after which he created space for the shot with a nice dribble. From the edge of sixteen, the Portuguese shot the ball into the bottom corner: 1-0.

Less than ten minutes later the visitors scored again. After good preparatory work by Randal Kolo Muani, it was Mbappé himself who scored the 0-2. An easy match was expected for the Parisians, but nothing turned out to be further from the truth in the remainder of the first half.

Before halftime, the match tilted towards Montpellier. A cross that changed direction accidentally ended up at Nordin, who was quick to score the tying goal: 1-2.

Before half-time, the home team even leveled. After a shockingly weak back pass from former Roda player Danilo Pereira, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma collided with Tanguy Coulibaly, after which the referee pointed to the spot. The penalty was convincingly saved by Savanier, who deposited the ball hard into the left intersection.

After the tea break, PSG quickly put things in order. Five minutes after halftime, it was Mbappé again who left his mark on the match with an unprecedented goal. From the edge of sixteen, the Frenchman took the lead and shot the ball beautifully via the underside of the crossbar into the far corner.

Three minutes later the score was 2-4. Lee Kang-In created space for the shot with a nice one-two and hit the target. It wouldn't stop there. Mbappé scored his third goal of the match after more than an hour of play. A quickly taken free kick put Mbappé alone in front of Montpellier goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud, where he coolly finished: 2-5.

It was already the fourth hat-trick of this season in all competitions for Mbappé. PSG took it easier for the remainder of the match. Only Mendes scored a goal in the final phase and set the final score at 2-6. The victory gives France's leader a twelve-point lead over closest attacker Stade Brest with eight games to go.
