Mohamed Taabouni becomes a teammate of his bosom friend Orkun Kökcü at Feyenoord. His first interview as a Feyenoord player came online on Friday. It also discusses his friendship with the star player of Feyenoord. At first, Kökcü could hardly believe that Taabouni was going to sign in South Rotterdam.

Kökcü and Taabouni grew up together in Schalkwijk, the largest district in Haarlem. The two have been friends for a long time. That makes the transition to Feyenoord extra nice for Taabouni. “We’ve known each other for a long time and we’ve been through a lot. We also played a lot of football together and can now do that at Feyenoord. See if we still have a match on the field.”

The interview asks about Kökcü’s reaction when Taabouni told him the news about his contract. “He had to laugh at first and thought it was funny. In fact, he couldn’t quite believe it. Orkun likes it very much. I’m curious how our collaboration will go,” says Taabouni with a big smile.

At Feyenoord, Taabouni encounters an old acquaintance with Arne Slot. The two had extensive contact before the signature was put. “Yes, I spoke to the head coach. It’s always nice to see each other again after quite a long time. Slot is the trainer who made my debut at AZ.” Especially physically, Taabouni wants to make further steps at Feyenoord. “I will certainly succeed.”
