Barcelona’s line-up for Sunday afternoon’s home game with Getafe in LaLiga has been announced. Trainer Ronald Koeman is forced to choose a new heart of the defense, as Gerard Pique is missing due to injuries and Eric García is serving a suspension. Goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen makes his comeback between the posts los Azulgrana, while Emerson Royal is preferred over Sergiño Dest on the right. Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay appear at the starting signal in the Camp Nou at 5 pm.

Ter Stegen had his knee operated on earlier this summer and was replaced by Neto in the first two matches of LaLiga. With the Brazilian on target, Barcelona conceded three goals against Real Sociedad (4-2) and Athletic Club (1-1). Emerson, who makes his starting debut, and Jordi Alba take on the flanks of the defence, while Ronald Araujo and Clément Lenglet los nuevos centrals titulares will be, ‘the new central defenders’.

Pique was injured in the first half in Bilbao, while García was shown a red card in the final minutes for hindering a broken through opponent. Araujo and Lenglet have not yet been side by side this season. In midfield, De Jong and captain Sergio Busquets are joined by Sergi Roberto, who takes advantage of Pedri’s absence. The teenager is currently on vacation after his participation in the European Championships and the Olympics.

The vanguard is formed by Depay, Antoine Griezmann and Martin Braithwaite. Only Griezmann has not yet made a productive contribution: Depay has scored a goal and an assist in the first two days of play, while Braithwaite’s counter stands at two goals and an assist. Getafe is still on zero points and zero goals after minimal defeats against Valencia (1-0) and Sevilla (0-1).

Barcelona line-up: Ter Stegen; Emerson, Araujo, Lenglet; Jordi Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Sergi Roberto; Griezmann, Braithwaite and Depay.
