Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will be exploring the coaching profession in the coming six months with a sniffing internship at Vitesse, reports the Gelderlander. The 38-year-old former striker will go to the Under-21 of the Arnhem team, which is led by Nicky Hofs, to see if he likes the trainer profession. Huntelaar’s twelve-year-old son Seb plays in the youth academy of Vitesse.

Huntelaar put an end to his impressive career last summer, which took him past De Graafschap, AGOVV, sc Heerenveen, Ajax, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Schalke 04. After the relegation with Schalke 04 to the 2.Bundesliga, his contract in Gelsenkirchen expired, after which he received a few offers to return to the Eredivisie. However, FC Twente, NEC and sc Heerenveen, among others, caught up with Huntelaar.

The 76-time the Dutch international recently appeared in the sixth team of HC’03 and now appears to be orienting himself on a trainer career. Until the winter break, Huntelaar will do an internship with the highest youth team of Vitesse, which is trained by Hofs. During the internship period at Vitesse Under-21, Huntelaar will see whether he likes the trainer profession.
