FC Twente has targeted Robert Mühren, journalist Eddy van der Ley reports in the online talk show FootballTime. The 31-year-old Mühren came this season in the Kitchen Champion Division to a dizzying number of 38 goals and 14 assists and has an expiring contract with SC Cambuur.

Mühren has the option to go to the Eredivisie with the promoted Cambuur, but can also expect an offer from FC Twente. The Tukkers are looking for a replacement for the rented Danilo, who normally returns to Ajax. “I think he is a good striker”, replies former attacker Youri Mulder FootballTime on the interest of Twente in Mühren. “He really is a striker who scores easily and he is physically quite good. But he is also a player that you can play ‘from’, if you have a few good players around that.”

Johan Derksen, by the way, let in Veronica Inside already several times know Mühren not good enough for the Eredivisie. “If Cambuur is smart, then they will not go into the Eredivisie with that Mühren”, Derksen said recently. “He is the top scorer in the Kitchen Champion Division, but he is of no use to him in the Eredivisie. They have to quit. But it is typical: they are in a euphoria and think that Mühren should have a five-year contract, because that is our striker. Forget it, “said Derksen.

Mühren has been playing for Cambuur for two seasons, which initially hired him from Zulte Waregem. The arrival of Mühren to Leeuwarden turned out to be a bull’s eye, because in the aborted last season he also scored 26 goals and 7 assists in 29 league matches. Mühren previously played with AZ and Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie and started his career in the Eerste Divisie at FC Volendam.
