Kevin De Bruyne has been handed a very special gift after the city derby against Manchester United (6-3). The 31-year-old playmaker of Manchester City received from Sam Kerkhofs, a Belgian presenter, a shirt from the arch-rival with his name and number on the back. De Bruyne, who gave two assists to Erling Haaland in the derby, then laughed.

“Do I have to burn it now?”, the 93-time Belgian international wondered aloud. Kerkhofs poked fun at De Bruyne and put the words ‘it’s a dream’ in his mouth. “Most dreams are deception, aren’t they?” the midfielder responded with a laugh. However, the Belgian did go home with a United shirt after the derby won. De Bruyne exchanged match shirts with Cristiano Ronaldo, who spent ninety minutes on the bench with Erik ten Hag’s team.

According to Manchester Evening News the City tastemaker had already asked Ronaldo before the game if he could have his shirt after the game. A few weeks ago, De Bruyne gave a talk with SPORT Bible still prefer to play with the Portuguese than with Messi. “Compared to Messi, Ronaldo is more of a typical striker. Messi is more of a playmaker, which I am. So give me a striker,” said the Belgian.
