Juventus again failed to win in Serie A. The top match against AC Milan remained undecided: 1-1. The home side had the better of the game in Turin and had the best opportunities, but that was not enough for the win. A goal from Ante Rebic fifteen minutes before the end meant that Juventus still have to wait for the first victory in the competition this season.

Juventus started the game without Matthijs de Ligt, who remained on the bench for ninety minutes. Trainer Massimiliano Allegri announced prior to the match that he did not set up the the Dutch international because he chooses to rotate. Last Tuesday, De Ligt still played in the Champions League; against Malmö FF (0-3 win) he played 86 minutes. From the bench, the ex-Ajacied saw his teammates quickly take the lead on Sunday evening. In the fourth minute an AC Milan corner was defused, after which a lightning-fast counter was set in motion. In the end, Álvaro Morata could only go after Milan keeper Mike Maignan and made the 1-0 with a handy bounce.

The best chances on Sunday were for Juventus, which had little to fear from the visitors from Milan. After half an hour of play, Adrien Rabiot could only go on Maignan. However, the French midfielder was not fast enough and was overtaken by Fikayo Tomori, who prevented a bigger deficit. Juventus remained the dominant party on their own field, but did not manage to extend the lead. As a result, Milan kept faith in a good result. Fifteen minutes before the end, the home team gave away a corner that resulted in the 1-1. Sandro Tonali put the ball on the head of Ante Rebic, who, thanks to excellent timing, was able to score completely free with the head. The ball hit the ropes through the inside of the post; Wojciech Szczesny was transfixed and had no chance.

In the remainder of the game, Juventus did everything they could to win the match. It resulted in an exciting final phase, in which no more goals were scored. Juventus is therefore unable to win again and is now in eighteenth place with two points from four games. AC Milan comes on ten points, the same as league-leader Internazionale. Going next Wednesday la Vecchia Signora visiting Spezia for the first win of the season in Serie A.
