Juventus suffered another painful defeat in the Serie A on Saturday evening. On a visit to Hellas Verona, the team of trainer Massimiliano Allegri did not make a fist and lost 2-1. Within fifteen minutes a sixth could be added, and that was allowed to be there. Simeone received the ball from Darko Lazovic on the left side of the box, dribbled in and curled beautifully behind the hopeless Szczesny. Allegri became furious, but his frustration did not spread to his team. Juventus played too slow to break any pots and were even allowed to breathe a sigh of relief after Simeone’s apparent third was disallowed for a previous foul. Paulo Dybala gave the home team a bit of a scare by shaking the bar on the stroke of half-time, but the halftime score would remain 2-0.
It had to come from Dybala: his two attempts just after the break narrowly missed. However, Juve did not come up with great opportunities and Weston McKennie’s 2-1 in the 80th minute came out of the blue. Danilo found the United States international from the right and the cannonball from his foot landed through the bottom of the crossbar behind Hellas goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo. Juventus pulled out all the stops to at least steal another point, but even with extra ‘striker’ Leonardo Bonucci, the team no longer achieved a result.
