Juventus easily won against Spezia on Tuesday evening. La Vecchia Signora had no child to the number sixteen of the Serie A, who scored three goals: 3-0. Cristiano Ronaldo signed for the last goal of the evening. Matthijs de Ligt was supposed to be in the starting line-up, but dropped out in the warm-up with an unknown injury. Juventus remains in third place and is seven points behind leader Internazionale.

After last Saturday’s debacle visiting Hellas Verona (1-1), when Juventus entered a 5-3-2 formation, Pirlo decided on Tuesday to revert to the familiar 4-4-2 system. De Ligt, who dropped out in the warm-up, was replaced by left back Gianluca Frabotta. Alex Sandro moved to the center of defense, where he played with Merih Demiral. Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci are still injured. Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo was again in the front with Dejan Kulusevski.

Juventus started the game weak and early on received a warning from Spezia, which became imminent via a counter. In doing so, Riccardo Marchizza hit the side net. Juventus was not very convincing, but at the end of the first half, the home team became increasingly threatening. Danilo produced a weak cross on Ronaldo in a promising position, while Kulusevski saw his shot blocked by Martin Erlic with his weak right. The best chance was for Ronaldo, who came in from the left and hit the post.

A double golden substitution by Pirlo gave Juventus the liberating opening goal fifteen minutes after the break: Álvaro Morata tapped in four minutes after his substitution from a cross by Federico Bernardeschi, who also had only just entered the field: 1-0. Ten minutes later, Juventus decided the game. Federico Chiesa was allowed to moor freely after a good action by Bernardeschi and initially saw goalkeeper Ivan Provedel save. In the rebound, however, Chiesa finished it: 2-0. Ronaldo kept looking for a hit and was rewarded for it in the 89th minute. The Portuguese was sent deep by Rodrigo Bentancur and found the bottom corner with the left: 3-0. An alleged foul by Merih Demiral on Emmanuel Gyasi resulted in another penalty for Spezia, who was shot right in the hands of Wojciech Szczesny by Andrey Galabinov.
