Justin Bijlow pulls out injured again and leaves the field in tears

A pitch-black afternoon for Justin Bijlow. During the match against AZ, the goalkeeper was forced to abandon the match after more than half an hour. An emotional Bijlow could not hold back his tears. Timon Wellenreuther has joined the team as his replacement.

The cameras of ESPN suddenly turned to Bijlow, who, while hopping to the side, shouted for a replacement. Soon the goalkeeper, who immediately sensed that something was wrong, plopped down on the turf.

The replay made it clear that the injury occurred after a pass from the closing post. Dávid Hancko played in Bijlow, after which the goalkeeper passed to Quilindschy Hartman. That's where things went wrong for unlucky Bijlow.

The images suggest that it is a foot injury, according to the tweet RTV Rijnmond, but nothing is certain yet. The severity of the injury is of course still unknown, but the goalkeeper could certainly not hold back his tears.

Bijlow was carried off the field with loud applause from both the AZ fans and the Feyenoord supporters.

Earlier in the season, the injury-prone Bijlow also missed several matches for the Rotterdam team due to a wrist injury. Then he had to miss seven league games.
