Feyenoord does not rule out that Justin Bijlow will be part of the selection for the Conference League final against AS Roma, reports it General Newspaper† With the final in sight, the goalkeeper is starting to feel increasingly fit, according to journalist Mikos Gouka. He is not fully training with the selection yet, but his recovery is going well. A place on the bench in Tirana is described as a realistic goal.

Bijlow went under the knife in March due to a foot injury. Since then, Ofir Marciano has been Feyenoord’s first goalkeeper. Bijlow last played on March 10 in the away game against Partizan Belgrade (2-5 win) in the eighth finals of the Conference League. “Bijlow was written off for this season, but he might have made it to the last league game if he had given his all,” Gouka writes in the newspaper.

“They do not rule out the possibility that Bijlow could be part of the match selection, but first they want him to fully train with the group without Bijlow feeling pressured,” Gouka describes the train of thought at Feyenoord. “That is not excluded, because that period is still quite long. He is well on his way to achieving that.” In the run-up to the final, Bijlow will join a training camp in Lagos, where his fitness will be further tested.
