Donyell Malen can count on serious interest from Liverpool, the German reports BILD. The attacker is having a very strong start to the season at Borussia Dortmund and Jürgen Klopp would see the quick attacker as a desirable addition to his player base. Earlier, before Malen left for Dortmund, the German coach was also said to have been charmed by the Dutchman, who is said to cost sixty million euros.

After Malen’s good performances in the first rounds of the Bundesliga, he is said to have revived Liverpool’s interest. The Dutchman scored three goals in five games this season, where he suddenly started scoring furiously at the end of last season. In the last nine games, in which Dortmund lost the championship on the last matchday, he was good for seven goals and three assists.

With Malen, Klopp would bring the fifth Dutchman to Anfield after Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Sepp van den Berg. Where Van Dijk is the captain the Reds and Gravenberch and Gakpo also make sufficient minutes, Van den Berg does not have to count on playing minutes. There is also very tough competition for Malen. The Dutchman has often played from the right winger position lately, which means he would have to compete with Mohammed Salah at Liverpool.

Liverpool would therefore see Malen as a back-up attacker. Furthermore, the front line of last year’s number five with Gakpo, Luís Diaz, Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota is well occupied. However, to attract the Dutchman, Liverpool will have to spend a lot of money. Dortmund has set the asking price for the ex-PSV player at sixty million euros. Malen still has a contract in Germany that runs until mid-2026.
