Jose Mourinho may face a penalty. The AS Roma trainer was sent away on Saturday just before the final signal at the point division with Hellas Verona because of controversial gestures. The Italian newspaper la Stampa comes out with new details. “Juventus sent you,” Mourinho is said to have told referee Luca Pairetto.

AS Roma faced a surprising 0-2 deficit at half-time in their own home on Saturday. In the second act, the Romans managed to turn their backs against Hellas Verona thanks to hits from Cristian Volpato Edoardo Bove, but they could not escape losing points. Mourinho took the lead in the division of the points when he made a telephone gesture after Pairetto in stoppage time and was sent to the stands by the referee.

“They sent you here deliberately, Juventus sent you,” is what Mourinho says la pampas would have said to the arbitrator. He was referring to the possible connection of Pairetto with la Vecchia Signoria† Pairetto’s brother, Alberto, has been with Juventus for eight years and their father Pierluigi has been convicted in the Calciopoli scandal, in which Luciano Moggi, the former general manager of Juventus, turned out to be the linchpin.

According to la Stampa Mourinho may face a two or three game suspension. The 37-year-old Pairetto is one of the most experienced referees in Serie A. The referee has played 92 matches in the top division of Italy and has also whistled European duels since September.
