João Félix is receiving serious interest from Aston Villa, Fabrizio Romano confirms after earlier reports from various English media. The Portuguese is still tied to Atlético Madrid until mid-2029, where he does not seem to feature in the plans of coach Diego Simeone.

Villa raked in around sixty million euros last week with the sale of Moussa Diaby to Ittihad Club. The club wants to reinvest that money in Félix, who has been promoted by the English as a dream candidate to become the next summer reinforcement.

Manager Unai Emery is very charmed by Félix, partly because of his flexibility up front. The Portuguese can play both on the flanks and in the centre of the attack. It is not yet entirely clear whether Félix is interested in a transfer to Birmingham.

Félix played on loan for FC Barcelona last season, where the attacker enjoyed himself. However, a permanent transfer was not in the cards. The Catalans announced at the end of June that the purchase option in Félix's contract would not be exercised.

Thus, Felix returns to Atlético, but there he does not have the best relationship with coach Simeone. Felix was dissatisfied with the amount of playing time he got from the Argentine coach. Simeone thought that Felix often did not have the right attitude.

Now Villa may offer a solution. Romano reports that Villa is maintaining contacts to keep the deal possible, but at the same time reports that there is a hefty price tag attached to a possible transfer. Romano therefore labels the possible deal as 'not easy'.

Duran

Villa is also currently negotiating with West Ham United for the transfer of Jhon Durán. The 20-year-old Colombian is keen to make the move to West Ham. Villa is said to want around €50 million, an amount that West Ham is currently unwilling to meet.
