Mike Verweij calls the player guidance at Ajax ‘below all standards’. The journalist from The Telegraph says in the podcast Kickoff that the twelve summer purchases were put in a hotel near the Johan Cruijff ArenA this summer. “Furthermore, they are completely left to their own devices,” says Verweij.

“It is a repetitive story,” says Verweij. “If as a club you are told every time that the guidance leaves something to be desired, then you have to do something about it. In this case you spend more than 110 million on transfer fees, so spend a little more on the guidance of players. .”

Valentijn Driessen has a different voice in the podcast. Driessen thinks it’s all exaggerated. “What are those players whining about? What is this all about? You can take care of your own food, right?”
